Affirmations annual gala supports LGBT community

FERNDALE-
Equal rights supporters across metro Detroit will enjoy a unique and theatrical experience at the area's largest fundraising event for LGBTs on Saturday, March 19th. Affirmations' 12th annual Big Bash has a reputation for creating an unusual and bold experience, and this year's Cirque du Soiree will not disappoint.
Guests will enjoy aerial performances by the Detroit Fly House, dinner, music and dancing. The Big Bash takes place at the Suburban Collection Showplace (formerly known as the Rock Financial Showplace) in Novi from 6 p.m. to midnight.
"This event is a really great way to have fun while helping to support an important cause," says Lea Brown, Big Bash organizer. "The funds raised at The Big Bash allow Affirmations to continue providing support, education and a safe space for LGBT people across the metro Detroit."
For the first time, the event includes an after-party from 10 p.m. to midnight, with an alternative ticket option offered for just $35 that includes the silent auction, dancing and an aerial performance. Tickets for the fundraiser can be purchased at http://www.thebigbash.org. For more information about tickets or sponsorship, contact Jeannine Simpson at 248-398-7105.
