Affirmations Lesbian and Gay Community Center Board of Directors is now accepting letters of intent from individuals interested in running for election to the board. Election to the Board will take place at Affirmations' Annual Meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, May 25, 2005. To become a member visit http://www.GoAffirmations.org.
Those individuals interested in running for a three-year term should submit a Letter of Intent to Noel Baril, Board President. The letter must be received by 5 p.m. April 15, 2005 and should include the following information:
Name, address and phone number.
Summary of background and relevant experience, including past volunteer board experience and other volunteer involvement – both LGBT and other.
Why you are interested in serving on the board.
The nominating committee will summarize information from the letter of intent into a profile for the ballots.
Board members are required to attend monthly board meetings (4th Wednesday of each month), actively serve on a standing committee, work at/attend fundraising events for the Center, be an advocate for the Center and financially support Affirmations personally and by soliciting others to do so. Board volunteer commitment, in addition to board meetings, is approximately 8 hours per month.
