Affirmations LGBTQ+ Community Center, in partnership with Oakland County Health Division and the City of Ferndale, will begin offering COVID-19 vaccinations this month. The first dose will be offered on Thursday, April 29, and the second Thursday, May 27. Appointments are required.

“The LGBTQ community is not being vaccinated at the same rates as the straight community and we feel if we can open up Affirmations to the community then hopefully people will feel more comfortable coming to the center for their vaccinations,” said Affirmations Executive Director Dave Garcia. “Obviously, this location is for straight people, too. But the LGBTQ community needs a place to feel safe and, hopefully, we can provide that at Affirmations.”

Vaccinations are free. To make an appointment, call 248-858-5416.
