Ain't nobody's business if you do

Dear BTL,
Re: John Corvino's column "Glass closets" from the July 7 issue of BTL:
John, you're right, Luther Vandross' sexuality and the way he handled the issue in public is none of your damn business. Gay activists have to stop criticizing other gays (assuming, I guess, that Vandross was gay). Writing positively about coming out is great. But to complain about what you see as someone else's failings in this area makes you seem kind of arrogant. If I die today is there going to be some critic analyzing how I handled my sexuality for the past 38 years? Will it meet with their approval? Am I doing everything the one true way? Is there a checklist available to make sure I comply with all of the coming out/gay in public/don't want to be accused of hiding rules?
