* Auto worker – Dodge Main, Hamtramck
* 1966-1968 – Served in the Army's 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam. Awarded a Bronze Star and Purple Hearts for wounds received in combat.
* 1968-1985 – Detroit Police Department, became a leiutenant at age 28, received a Department Citation.
* In 1984, Williams' right hand was amputated due to cancer related to exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam.

* Wayne State University, bachelor's degree in criminal justice, 1982
* Detroit College of Law, 1986 graduate
Experience:
* Founder, Williams and Youngblood and Amos E. Williams, P.C., law firms.
* Successfully litigated cases involving police misconduct, race and age discrimination, and 4th Amendment protections for high school students.
* 2006 recipient of a National Lawyers Guild award for his civil rights work with his wife, Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Carole Youngblood.
Family:
Williams and Youngblood are the parents of Eric Williams and Jennifer Kendall Fouche, and grandparents of Travis, Justice and Sydney.
