Auditions for 2nd annual Motor City Pride Idol contest April 14

Auditions for the Motor City Pride Idol contest will be held at Detroit's Rainbow Room April 14 at 8 p.m. Twenty finalists will be selected to perform at the competition itself April 16. Judges for the event will include Barbara Payton, last year's winner Ava Rogers, and Kathy Bouknight. The April 16 competition will also begin at 8 p.m. at the Rainbow Room.
The finalists will receive prizes including CDs from Barbara Payton, Jewelry by Kris, special nights out at restaurants including Como's of Ferndale, and free entrance to the Rainbow Room.
The contest winner will receive the title of Motor City Pride Idol 2005 and over $1,000 in cash and prizes. The winner will also perform on stage with Barbara Payton at the Rainbow Room and at Motor City Pride on Sunday, June 5.
The advanced application deadline is April 13.
