Children's Hospital of Michigan Foundation Funds 51 Projects with $2.2 million

DETROIT — The Children's Hospital of Michigan Foundation has announced that in the second round of their 2018 grant cycle, funding for 51 projects totaling 2.2 million dollars has been awarded. While the Foundation remains committed to supporting Children's Hospital of Michigan and affiliates, 14 of these grant recipients are new community partners to the Foundation.
"As we continue our journey toward becoming a leading community foundation for children in Michigan and beyond, expanding our network of partners is key. These 14 new relationships will allow us to broaden our reach and make an impact on the health and wellness of more children and families," said Lawrence J. Burns, President & CEO, Children's Hospital of Michigan Foundation.
Through grantmaking and advocacy, the Children's Hospital of Michigan Foundation enables researchers and community organizations to fund services and research to fulfill its goal of advancing children's health. These efforts have totaled more than $40 million in grant funding since 2011.
Every year the Children's Hospital of Michigan Foundation awards new funding to a carefully selected group of applicants whose work supports the Foundation's Three Pillars: Community Benefit, Pediatric Research and Medical Education, as well as meeting its Five Focus Areas: nutritional wellness, abuse and neglect, injury prevention, mental health and oncology/cardiology.
