Chosen Books to reopen in Ferndale

FERNDALE – Chosen Books of Michigan will soon reopen their doors, but not in Royal Oak where they had been for almost 20 years. They are reopening in a new free standing building at 1956 Hilton Rd., just north of Nine Mile Rd., in Ferndale. Owner Joe Karasinski said they expect to open by no later than March 29. The store will feature LGBT books, cards and videos. By ordinance, only 25 percent of the floorspace can be used for adult materials, but since the new space is more than twice as big as the old, the adult video inventory will be as extensive as it was in the old location.
