Civic Does Cinema' May 9-10

ANN ARBOR – Ann Arbor Civic Theatre and the Firefly Club present a benefit show, "Steppin' Out 4: Civic Does Cinema" Wednesday and Thursday, May 9 and 10 at the Firefly Club, 207 S. Ashley St. in downtown Ann Arbor.
"Civic Does Cinema" features many of A2CT's finest entertainers singing tunes from the movies including favorites from films like "Tommy," "The Jerk," "Three Amigos" and "Wayne's World." Guest performers will be on hand with a special preview of A2CT's upcoming production of "Hair," which was a movie as well as a smash-hit Broadway musical.
"We're doing something a little different for this 'Steppin' Out,'" says Producer and emcee Curt Waugh. "Instead of the usual Broadway show tunes and classic songs, we're moving off the beaten path and having a lot of fun along the way."
"Civic Does Cinema's" talented cast includes January and Anthony Provenzola, Kathy Waugh, Jeff Steinhauer, Sue Booth, Tawna Dabney, members from A2CT production of "Hair," and many others.
Proceeds from "Steppin' Out IV: Civic Does Cinema" go to Ann Arbor Civic Theatre, one of the country's oldest and most successful community theaters. A2CT produces dramas, comedies, classics and musicals. Its youth program, Junior Theatre, provides low-cost opportunities for area youth to participate in and experience live theater.
Tickets are $15 each for general admission & $25 for reserved seating.
Tickets are available at the Ann Arbor Civic Theatre box office, 322 W. Ann St., by calling the office at 734-971-2228, or at the door of the Firefly before each performance. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m.
