Come 'Tie' it on

BIRMINGHAM –
Ties Like Me, the premier LGBT business networking group is hosting their 2nd Annual Business Expo on Wednesday, Sept. 17 from 5 – 8 p.m. at Big Rock Reserve. From florists to upscale hair salons, law firms to financial planners, mortgage and loan experts, nonprofits to retailers, this expo promises to be as diverse as its owners. Last years' event brought new business to the vendors who participated and this year the group of new vendors has doubled in size.
"This event is a great way for members of the LGBT community to come together and help drive business and make contacts in our community. There will be many exhibitors from the Detroit metropolitan area," said Reid Beyerlein one of Ties Like Me founders.
Some exhibitors include the Detroit Opera House, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Affirmations Community Center, HRC, Rasor Law Firm, Azenza Salon to name just a few of the dozens that will be on hand. At presstime all tables where sold out for this year's expo.
"In these economic times, the need to support one another is greater than ever before. I always look to our community for my business needs before going outside for goods and services I might need. Businesses are built on referrals," said co-founder Robert Lalicki.
Curtis Posuniakof of Klassics by Kurtis emphatetically added, "Ties Like Me has been a wonderful networking opportunity among gay professional men and women, which has helped facilitate a stronger and more successful way of meeting quality contacts and optimizing this networking experience."
