Thursday, November 6
Seminar on LGBT Youth and Their Families
Affirmations is hosting a presentation by Dr. Richard Savin-Williams, Ph.D., Thursday, November 6th at 7:00 p.m. at the Birmingham Community House. Dr. Williams is a professor at Cornell University in New York. He is a leading expert on Gay Youth and their relationship with their parents. He has appeared on the front page of the New York Times, has published extensively, and has been on the Today Show. This presentation will include a panel discussion as well as a question and answer period. The Power of One
The Pittmann-Puckett Art Gallery will feature the latest works of artist Stephen Fleck titled, The Power of One, during the month of November. The dates of the exhibition are November 3 to November 27, with a special Artist Reception to be held on Saturday, November 8 from 5-8 p.m. All are invited!

Game Night!
Join us the second Saturday of the month starting at 7 p.m. for a rousing game of monopoly, euchre, Apples to Apples… you name it! Bring a game, or play one provided.

The next New Volunteer Orientation will be held Monday, November 10, 2003. Hungry for Healing Workshop
How much of your day do you spend criticizing your body, trying to control your willful appetite, discussing food with friends, and anguishing about exercise? Is it 40%, 60%, 80%? Now the tough question, what if you took all that energy you invest into changing your body and actually change your life or the lives of others in your community? Imagine if we all decided to do that? Eve Cribbs, MSW, CSW, will be conducting a free two-hour workshop called Hungry For Healing. Transgender Day of Remembrance
Affirmations Lesbian and Gay Community Center, Transgender Michigan, and Metropolitan Community Church of Detroit are co-sponsoring the 5th Annual Transgender Day of Remembrance to remember transgender individual who have died for simply being themselves. The vigil will take place on November 20 at Metropolitan Community Church of Detroit, 2441 Pinecrest, Ferndale at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

A social-support group for Gay, Bi-sexual and transgender men is now available in the Port Huron area. The group will be meeting the 1st Tuesday of every month at the Port Huron Municipal Office Center, 100 McMorran Blvd., 4th floor conference room, Port Huron. The group is sponsored by Blue Water Pride, an education and advocacy group for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people in St. Clair, Sanilac, Lambton and northern Macomb counties. Downriver Rainbow LGBT Social Gathering
