Community Health Awareness Group will hold an open house on Friday, Dec. 17 from 4-7 p.m. to welcome the community to the organization's new offices, and to dedicate its new community center at 1300 W. Fort St. in Detroit. The move is the organization's first in its eighteen-year history.
CHAG is committed to reducing the transmission of HIV among African-American substance users. The agency provides HIV education, rapid testing, clean needles and condoms, assistance in accessing drug treatment and immediate access to care for those testing positive for HIV.
The agency also provides substance abuse pre-treatment and aftercare, training for outreach workers and hepatitis C support services.
