Crossroads Chapter celebrates 27 years

By Dawn Wolfe

Crossroads Chapter was founded in Flint by Grace Bacon, according to current President Kenni Joanne Janiszewski, and through the years has served roughly 1,700 members. The organization currently has an active membership list of fifty people, mostly from southeastern Michigan, northern Ohio and parts of Ontario.
According to Janiszewski, Crossroads Chapter "provides a safe atmosphere for the members to get together who share a common interest. That's the reason we were formed – to have a safe meeting place. In the old days, we never went out in public, though now we do."
While all transpeople are welcome to join, Janiszewski said that most members are either MTF crossdressers or transwomen, and noted that wives and significant others are welcome to attend meetings and to join as associate members.
