MILFORD – On Sept. 30, the Coalition for Adoption Rights and Affirmations Lesbian and Gay Community Center will launch the first of an annual celebration of all families, Familypalooza.
Over 100 families are expected to attend the event at Kensington Metro Park, part of the Huron-Clinton MetroParks in Milford, Mich. The event will combine the musical talents of local artists with family-fun activities like face painting, moonwalks and picnics.
The concert portion of the event features the debut performance of Second Union Music's new single "What about Me?" a song specifically championing second parent adoption in Michigan. CDs will be available for a donation during and after the event.
Tickets for the event are $5 per person or $25 per family. Sponsors can send donations to: Affirmations Lesbian and Gay Community Center, 195 W. 9 Mile Road, Ferndale, MI 48220. For more information on sponsorship call Maureen Jones at 248-398-7105 ext. 29. For more information on second parent adoption visit http://www.secondpartadoption.org.
