Ferndale Community Foundation Roast

The Ferndale Elks Club will be the scene of a community "roast" on Friday Nov. 19 when a dozen local leaders and personalities gather for a night of hilarity and trading humorous insults targeting senior president Jeannie Davis and each other. The evening begins at 6:30 with dinner and a cash bar.
Jeannie Davis, local community activist, writer, and senior leader, recently turned 70 years old and will be the central target of the event's verbal jousting. Emcees for the event will be Greg Pawlica, foundation board member, and Craig Covey, Ferndale mayor and Oakland County Commissioner-elect.
The Ferndale Community Foundation raises funds for distribution to local non-profit organizations for projects related to health, arts and culture, and education in the community. It has raised more than $100,000 during the past decade and has funded specific efforts in Ferndale such as the Crow's Nest sculpture, school science supplies, drug prevention and HIV/AIDS education, youth retreats, and music in the parks. Tickets are $25 per person, with a senior discount ticket price of $15. They can be purchased by calling 248-672-4067 or emailing to [email protected]. The Ferndale Elks is located on Woodward Ave one block north of E. Nine Mile Road.
