Get into the spirit of giving at Just 4 Us

FERNDALE – The lights are on, and the tree has been decorated at Just 4 Us in Ferndale with much more than ordinary ornaments.
"Christmas is my favorite time of the year. It's a great time for giving, and that is just what we are doing," said Just 4 Us owner Kevin Rogers. "We have decided to give back to the very organizations which give to our community everyday."
It's in this spirit of giving that Just 4 Us presents The Giving Tree" located in the store at 211 W. 9 Mile.
"The Giving Tree" is an opportunity to show support and give something back to the organizations in the LGBT community who give so much. The organizations have given Just 4 Us a wish list which include necessities ranging from paper clips, computer printers, warm gloves, gas cards, Office Depot gift cards and a box of pens.
The organizations include one who gives LGBTQ youth shelter (The Ruth Ellis Center), one that provides a hot meal and shelter to the sick (Wellness House of Michigan), one who has been on the front lines in LGBT battles (Triangle Foundation), one that helps educate about safe sex and protect gay men (Midwest AIDS Prevention Project), and one that has been a safe place for the community to meet (Affirmations Lesbian and Gay Community Center).
Everyone is welcome to come in and participate by selecting tags off "The Giving Tree." Each tag includes the organization's name and item they are wishing for. You purchase the item and bring it back to Just 4 Us, with the tag taped to it and Just 4 Us will deliver the item to that organization.
"The Giving Tree" will be up until Dec. 23. Wrapping is optional, but be sure to fill out the information on the back of the tag, and keep your receipts, as all purchases are tax deductible.
Remember, the Holiday Season is about giving. "Who better to give to than the organizations that stand by us, making sure we have a community of warmth, strength, shelter and love whenever we need them?" said Rogers.
