Get OUT the Vote

By Dawn Wolfe Gutterman

FERNDALE – As part of the national America Votes effort, several Michigan LGBT organizations have joined forces to hold Get OUT the Vote rallies across the state. The last rally is scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight at SoHo in Ferndale.
The Triangle Action Fund, the Human Rights Campaign and Michigan Equality have joined with local and statewide pro-equality organizations from the Washtenaw Rainbow Action Project to the Coalition for Adoption Rights Equality to host the events.
According to Michigan Equality Executive Director Derek Smiertka, the Oct. 22 event in Ann Arbor was a great success.
"The event was a wonderful, exciting opportunity for volunteers and community-based organizations to get together and turn out the vote," he said.
