Glad to have GLBT business

Dear BTL,
I had an interesting phone call several weeks ago from one of your readers. She thanked me for having the guts to advertise in Between The Lines newspaper. I asked why, because as far as I was concerned it took no guts at all…it was an advertising business decision that I make everyday with all forms of media placement. In her kind and pleasant manner, she enlightened me to some of the fears that so pitifully still exist within the gay and lesbian community. For one, the fear of being ‘banished’ or ridiculed at certain establishments. In all honesty, the staff and crew at the Michigan Star Clipper Dinner Train have welcomed people from across the nation for close to 20 years now and we do NOT stereotype individuals. Everyone is welcome at our facility…we don’t care what color you are, we don’t care what your sexual orientation is and quite frankly, it is none of our business. Our business is to offer a great evening of fine rail dining and service, delightful entertainment, premium bar and a three hour train ride that brings all the amenities together on board to create a wonderful and unique evening out.
From couples, maybe several friends out together to memorable private parties, the train is a perfect place to relax, have fun and enjoy your partner and friends for a grand time.
The Michigan Star Clipper thanks you, the readers and supporters of Between The Lines, for your patronage. We look forward to meeting you and please, let us know if you know of us from this paper. It has been a pleasure to be associated with its publisher, Jan Stevenson and her staff. We are proud of this partnership!
