HARC to hold Dining for Dollars

The HIV/AIDS Resource Center will hold its 14th Annual Dining for Dollars fundraising dinner at 7 p.m. May 27 at Zingerman's Roadhouse in Ann Arbor. Join in for a night of festivities and enjoy food prepared by Chef Alex Young, over 100 silent auction items, an all-new strolling raffle – and, of course, the famous Zingerman's sundae bar.
HARC is a private non-profit organization that provides a range of HIV prevention services, as well as case management and support services for people living with HIV/AIDS. HARC is the only comprehensive AIDS service organization in a four-county service area that includes Washtenaw, Jackson, Lenawee and Livingston Counties. HARC's mission is to provide HIV related services to the community through compassionate direct care, prevention and outreach activities.
Dining for Dollars is an exclusive event, and HARC's largest fundraiser. The night aims to raise money to support their local HIV/AIDS prevention and care services.
That cause, according to HARC, is more important than ever, given Michigan's tough economy. "During these tough economic times and government funding cuts, people with HIV/AIDS need our help more than ever," said HARC President and CEO Jimena Loveluck. "Like most members of our community, our clients have loved ones and family members that depend on them. Events like Dining for Dollars raise important funds to ensure that people with HIV/AIDS continue to get the medical care and housing services they need."
This year, sponsorship opportunities are available for local businesses that want to get involved and show their commitment to addressing HIV/AIDS in the community. Donating a silent auction or strolling raffle item, hosting a table, or even in-kind donations are some of the options that HARC encourages for individuals, groups or businesses to show their support of the organization and its cause.
Or, there's always the option of attending the event. Tickets are $125 per person or $100 for a group of four or more. Tickets for Dining for Dollars may be purchased through HARC by visiting http://www.hivaidsresource.org or contacting Laura Zain at 734-572-9355.
