The Godmothers recently hosted their eighth annual T-Dance at the newly remodeled upstairs bar at Como's in Ferndale. The Godmothers, a grassroots group of women from Metro Detroit that address the needs of families in difficult situations, raised thousands of dollars at the event. Organizer Vicky Lewis said she is impressed by the generosity of the community. "You're everyday angels, not just holiday angels," Lewis said. "Christmas lives in the hearts of the gay community 365 days a year. Together we make a difference. You are our heroes, every one of you." For more information, visit www.thegodmothers.org.
