Holland is Ready film series

HOLLAND, Mich. –
Holland is Ready will continue its free 2010-11 film series with the showing of "Big Eden" at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Park Theatre, 248 S. River Ave.
"Big Eden" is set in a tiny fictional town in northwestern Montana and follows the story of Henry Hart, a successful New York artist who returns to the town of his childhood to care for the ailing grandfather who raised him. Back in Big Eden, Henry must come to terms with his relationship to Dean Stewart, his best friend from high school, as well as the object of his unrequited love.
But it is also the story of Pike Dexter, a shy, unassuming Native American owner of the town's general store, who is as surprised as anyone to find himself falling in love with Henry, and the town that conspires to bring Pike and Henry together.
Other films in the free series are "8: The Mormon Proposition" on Dec. 3; "Transamerica" on Friday, Feb. 4; "Seven Passages" on Friday, March 4; and "The Bird Cage" on Friday, April 1. All films start at 7:30 p.m. at the Park Theatre.
Holland is Ready is a group of community leaders working for the safety, rights and inclusion of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons in the Lakeshore area.
