Kazoo Civic Youth Theatre to 'Roar' beginning May 4

KALAMAZOO – The Kalamazoo Civic Youth Theatre will present the fun tale "The Mouse That Roared," May 4 through May 12 in the Parish Theatre, 426 South Park, Kalamazoo.
"The Mouse That Roared" is based on the book by Leonard Wibberley. This delightful classic stars Duchess Gloriana as the young sovereign in a miniscule country in the Alps. When her tiny domain nearly goes bankrupt, Gloriana decides to declare war on the United States because her study of recent history suggests that when the United States wins, it pours aid and rehabilitation on the vanquished. When her "declaration" of war is considered a prank, Gloriana decides to escalate. Tully Bascomb, who is in charge of the bowmen, is to launch an attack so they can surrender and reap the rewards. This wonderful comedy uses the magic of theatre to invite young audiences to enjoy the delight of the impossible.
Directed by our Civic Youth Theatre Director, Zac Thompson, the cast and crew features over 50 students from the Kalamazoo area.
"The Mouse That Roared" plays in the Parish Theatre, 426 South Park, Kalamazoo, May 4 through May 12. Order your tickets today by calling the Kalamazoo Civic Theatre Box Office at 269-343-1313 or visit http://www.kazoocivic.com.
