Dear BTL,
I just read Dr. John Corvino's convincing article regarding the joys of Detroit ("The Gay Moralist: Loving Detroit" from the Aug. 18, 2005 issue of BTL https://www.pridesource.com/article.shtml?article=15375 ). I must admit, I've only been there once, but found it a great place with many of the things mentioned by Corvino. My most memorable (and cherished) souvenir is a mug with the inscription, "I'm so bad, I vacation in Detroit." To Detroiters, I suggest that you do the same thing I do when I get the same response about living in Salt Lake City: hold your head high and declare your love for YOUR city, which, for reasons of your own is the best city in the country!
