Ford donates $7,500 to historical project

LANSING – Ford Motor Company Fund announced it will fund a groundbreaking and statewide lgbt historical project called "Pride Through the Years," which will chronicle the lgbt community's 15-year-old tradition of marching to the state Capitol.
The project will debut at a dinner event on Saturday, April 26 in the Radisson Lansing Ballroom. Tickets for the semi-formal event are $60 a person and can be purchased by calling (517) 371-8466.
"It is both sad and amazing that for 15 years our community has been marching to our Capitol steps in an effort to secure equal treatment for our families," said Michigan Pride Co-Chair Dawn Broderick.
"We hope that through the production of the 'Pride Through the Years Project,' Michigan Pride can preserve this history and inspire our community to continue forging ahead toward change."
The "Pride Through the Years Project" will be produced by Lansing-based Angel Wing Omega Productions under the direction of T.C. Mingus, a recent graduate from Michigan State University. The film, said Broderick, will pull together video footage, stories, memorabilia, and pictures of the event over the years.
For more information about Michigan Pride, the "Pride Through the Years Dinner" or the upcoming June 14 Pride events call (517) 371-8466 or www.michiganpride.org.
