Local playwright's piece presented for one final weekend

The final performances of Stephen Belber's "Tape," a suspenseful, fast paced, time warped moral debate about dark personal events of the past and the integrity of privacy, will be at 8 p.m. Feb. 27 and 28 at Lansing Community College. Belber's other works include theatrical and written contributions to the stage and film versions of "The Laramie Project" and television scripts for shows such as "Rescue Me" and "Law & Order: SVU."
David G.B. Brown, J.C. Kibbey and Natasha DeSenna Fernandes star as the once high school friends whose current fates simmer to a boil in a Lansing, Mich. motel room. The pulsing drama, sparked by a single event of the past, contains multiple points of view but only one objective truth. With biting humor and social commentary on unseen surveillance, "Tape" exposes dark secrets through darker intentions. "Tape" is intended for adult audiences.
"Tape" is directed by locally acclaimed director Lorijean Nichols. Previous directorial credits include "You Can't Take it With You," "Picnic at LCC," "Bus Stop" and "Expecting Isabel at MSU."
Performances are at 8 p.m. Feb. 27 and 28.
"Tape" will be performed in Lansing Community College's Black Box Theatre located in the Gannon Building (room 168) at 411 N. Grand Ave.
Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for students with valid ID, senior citizens, LCC faculty, staff and alumni. Tickets may be reserved in advance by calling 517-483-1018 or they may be purchase at the door. Seating is limited.
