A fundraiser will be held on Thursday, Oct. 23 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Pronto! in Royal Oak to raise money for the campaign of political candidate Garnet Lewis.
Lewis is running for the 98th State House District in Michigan, which includes parts of Midland and Saginaw. If elected, she would become the first openly-lesbian representative in history.
At the event at Pronto!, Garnet will be joined by her partner, Vicky Cobb, to speak about her campaign platform and why she is endorsed by the Triangle Pride PAC, Michigan Equality, Victory Fund and Between The Lines, among others.
The suggestion donation for the fundraiser is $50 and includes hors d'ouevres and a cash bar.
