On Saturday, March 3, four comedians will grace the stage at Dearborn's Ford Community & Performing Arts Center for the 22nd annual Michigan LGBT Comedyfest. The festival is put on by Motor City Pride and will feature four LGBT comedians, Julia Scotti, Andre Kelley, Pat Regan and Suzanne Westenhoefer.
Each of the four will bring their own unique blend of laughs, not shying away from talking about their sexual identity or orientation. But, of course, there will be plenty more to laugh about than that.
Julia Scotti is a New Jersey-based comic nationally-headlining comedian who was a quarter-finalist and fan favorite on season 11 of "America's Got Talent" in 2016. In 2012, she was also named one the top five transgender comedians in the U.S.
Andre Kelley lives in Los Angeles and is open about his sexuality in his comedy. He talks about family dynamics and his daily experiences as a gay man. His jokes have been featured on Comedy Central and Comics Unleashed.
Pat Regan's brand of humor excels in the observational. From plastic surgery, the afterlife, to office equipment, Regan can crack relatable jokes on nearly any topic.
Suzanne Westenhoeffer has been a standup comic since the '90s, and, since then, has been unafraid to talk about being a lesbian. Her jokes run a fine line between truth and hilarity.
