Michigan Pride board of directors election coming up

LANSING – Want to get involved in June Pride? The Michigan Pride board of directors election will be held on the organization's http://MichiganPride.org web site beginning Oct. 13 through Oct. 19. Voting is quick, easy and open to all supporters.
The organization produces a number of fundraising events during the year culminating in the June Pride celebration and march at the state capitol the second weekend in June.
Michigan Pride is currently seeking nominations of individuals who are interested in volunteering their time and talent to serve on the board of directors. Nominations close at 5 p.m. on Oct. 12 followed by week-long voting period. The board typically meets on Monday evenings in Lansing two to four times a month. Board members are expected to work with subcommittees, volunteers and to take part in Michigan Pride sponsored events. All board members serve two-year elected terms.
Currently board positions open for nomination are Co-Chair, At Large Members (2 positions), Treasurer
and the Festival and Event Director.
