"After four years serving on the Affirmations Board, I have decided to step down from the board. During that time the center has seen improved financial stability under Susan Erspamer's leadership, the development of many new programs, and has recently completed a new strategic plan."
Mike Flores will take over the remaining months of the term. He has been leading the development committee, and was instrumental in the strategic planning process throughout 2017. Mike is a graduate of University of Detroit Mercy and Oakland University; he has held several positions within the automotive industry in Michigan and the aerospace industry in Rhode Island. After returning to Michigan in 2015, he was reacquainted to Affirmations, and actively supported several events. In 2017, Flores joined the Affirmations' Board of Directors with a particular interest in helping the organization live up to its Vision and Mission, ensure its financial sustainability, and help it succeed through the rapid changes in our community.
Flores commented, "I look forward to building on Brad's efforts, and to work with the board through the center's next phase."
Flores' background in finance, strategy development, and program management will benefit the center as he presides over the board, works to finalize the 2018 budget, and chairs the 2018 Spring Bash Event.
