Here's a list of the Raves 'n Rants winners from Michigan's 'City of Trees'

Ann Arbor, often identified as Michigan's most liberal town, was warmly recognized by the readers of Between The Lines in this year's Raves 'n Rants survey.
Ann Arbor won runner up prizes for both the Favorite MICHIGAN city/suburb/town for shopping and dining, and for Gay-friendliest city/suburb/town in MICHIGAN in which to live.
The University of Michigan won first place for Gay-friendliest MICHIGAN college or university. Did anyone doubt that UofM would win – and with more than eight times the number of votes than the runners-up? UofM has the benefit of longevity, with an LGBTQ office in place for more than a quarter century.
Ann Arbor's favorite aut Bar won runner up spots for Favorite artsy-fartsy place you hang out just to be seen and for Friendliest LGBT bar or club. Necto can take a bow as runner up for Favorite str8 dance club.
All politics is local and Michigan State Rep. Christopher Kolb took the top prize for Most effective MICHIGAN LGBT politician. Thanks Chris for making it better for all of us in Lansing.
The favorite auto dealer prize was won by a dealership that does not exist anymore – at least under the ownership that was there when they won. Phillips Automotive Group in Milan was the only gay-owned auto dealer in Michigan, and has long been a favorite amongst the LGBT community. But will that continue under new (str8) owners, Victory Chevrolet, Buick & Pontiac?
Can't even see straight? Bennett Optometry in Ann Arbor took honors as runner up in Favorite place to buy eyeglasses or contacts. And once you get your eyes working right, you can watch videos from Liberty Street Video, which came is as a runner up in Favorite video store.
There are lots of homeowners in Ann Arbor and they spoke out for their favorite service providers. The winner for Favorite plumber was Ann Arbor's Triangle Plumbing. It's always good to have a friend with a pipe wrench! Dogma Catmandoo took first prize as Favorite specialty pet shop, and Jules Furniture was a runner up in Favorite store to buy unique furniture items
Ann Arbor's service organizations were well represented in the winners list. HIV/AIDS Resource Center in Ypsilanti was a runner up as Best AIDS prevention/education organization, and the St. Andrews Oasis Ministry, Ann Arbor was recognized as one of the {BOLD Most welcoming spiritual organizations for LGBT people.
