OutFront Kalamazoo Searching for New Executive Director

After the resignation of its Executive Director Jay Maddock, the OutFront Kalamazoo LGBTQ Center is searching for a new candidate to fill the position. Candidates who are "dynamic," ready to provide "vision, energy and leadership" and eager to work under the center's board of directors can apply online at outfrontkzoo.org. There, candidates will also be able to find a full list of job requirements. The position will remain open until filled.
Candidates should maintain the center's mission of creating "a just, inclusive, equitable and supportive environment in Southwest Michigan for people of all sexual orientations and gender identities and expression," as well as its vision of "a region that celebrates diversity and embraces equality." Below is a letter from both former Executive Director Jay Maddock and the community center's current Board President Jessica Hermann-Wilmarth:

Dear Friends,
It is with mixed emotions that we share with you that Jay will be starting a new chapter and stepping down from his role as Executive Director at OutFront Kalamazoo on Aug. 15. Jay's service as Executive Director for nearly four years has been an extreme honor and privilege for both Jay and the board of directors. Jay is leaving OutFront Kalamazoo in a strong and healthy position, and in the hands of an incredible board of directors, staff and volunteers.
During Jay's time as Executive Director, we've rebranded with a new name that better reflects our full community. We've moved to a more visible and easier to access location. And, we've strengthened current offerings and launched new programs in order to better serve our community. As Jay has led OutFront, we have served more people and increased our
community and statewide impact. Jay, the board and the staff are so proud of the work we
have done to make Kalamazoo a more inclusive and affirming community.
We know there are so many more successes in store for OutFront Kalamazoo and the LGBTQ+
community of greater Kalamazoo in the years to come. We know that you all will join the board and staff in wishing Jay well as he moves onto the next chapter of his career.
Jay's departure means that OutFront Kalamazoo will begin the search for a new Executive
Director. We're grateful that Jay will be here to assist the board in this search process and, hopefully, overlap with the new OutFront leader. Please check out the job announcement included in this e-news and share it far and wide.
Together in Action,
Jay Maddock, Executive Director
Jessica Hermann-Wilmarth, Board President
