Perceptions' Pride Awards return

Saginaw –
Perceptions' LGBT & Allies Pride Awards Banquet returns to Saginaw's Andersen Enrichment Center for the fourth time this June 26, honoring the area's most outstanding individuals and organizations working towards equality. The event's keynote speaker will be Michelle E. Brown.
Brown, a Detroit African-American speaker, author, activist and BTL contributor, will deliver her talk entitled "The Road to Equality begins at the intersection of social justice and LGBT equality." Brown has a reputation in the communities she serves for fearlessly tackling difficult issues and finding common ground.
"By shedding light on our ability to appreciate and respect each other," she says, "we can move forward as a civilization."
This year, the non-profit will honor individuals with political awards, lifetime achievement awards and pride awards. One business will also be honored for its contribution to the Tri-City LGBT community.
Honored businesses and individuals will be selected from a pool of nominees recommended by members of the Tri-City community.
The 4th Annual LGBT & Allies Pride Awards Banquet is 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 26 at the Andersen Enrichment Center, 120 Ezra Rust, Saginaw. Admission to the event is $25 per person or $15 for students or those of limited income. For tickets, sponsorship and information visit http://www.perceptionsSV.org or call 989-891-1429.
