Looking for a little fun – but can't wait for Pride? The 20-Somethings group at Affirmations knows how you feel. The group, begun by the center's freshest batch of LGBT young adults, are hosting their first-ever event this weekend.
The Pre-Pride Beach Bash, held 8-11:30 p.m. June 6 at Affirmations, is a one-of-a-kind party that will make all those Aff Youth Prom attendees green with envy.
The event serves as a kickoff to both the summer, and (unofficially) to Motor City Pride, which is held the next day for those who aren't too partied out. Beach Bash partygoers are encouraged to dress in their most summery wear. Bikini tops, short-shorts, tanks and sandals are encouraged, so leave those jackets at home.
The night will include several hours of dancing to music by Zodiac Entertainment, food, prizes and free massages from Diane's The Spa. It's like going on vacation to a tropical paradise – but without the high costs.
