MiGen, Michigan's LGBTQ+ Elders Network, hosted its annual Rainbow Resilience fashion show on March 2, featuring local LGBTQ+ older adults who modeled fashion, resilient joy and unabashed visibility.
More than 200 attendees watched participants strut, twirl and embrace their identities in a room buzzing with positive energy, including local advocates Jay Kaplan (ACLU of Michigan), Emme Zanotti (Equality Michigan), Rev. Dr. Roland Stringfellow (MCC-Detroit) and Michelle Fox-Phillips (GNA Gender Identity Network Alliance). MiGen Executive Director Angela Gabridge led the event.

After the event, MiGen shared this statement:
"We are truly in awe of Sunday’s Rainbow Resilience fashion show. With more than 200 people in attendance, the energy, love and joy in the room were beyond inspiring. Watching eleven LGBTQ+ older adults grace the runway with confidence, style and pride was a powerful reminder of the resilience and beauty within our community.
This show was more than just a runway — it was a statement of visibility, self-expression and joy. Every model brought their story to life, walking with courage and authenticity. From the carefully curated looks to the heartfelt collaborations between designers and models, each moment reinforced why this work matters.
To everyone who participated, attended, and supported this event — thank you. Your presence, your stories and your unwavering commitment to uplifting LGBTQ+ older adults made this night unforgettable. Rainbow Resilience: An Ageless Fashion Affair is proof that our community’s spirit shines at every age, and we can’t wait to continue building this legacy together."
