Raise funds for Senator Debbie Stabenow October 19

By BTL Staff

Members and allies of Michigan's LGBT community are hosting a fundraising event for Senator Debbie Stabenow. The event is intended to celebrate the distinguished service of Senator Stabenow and to raise funds for her reelection campaign.
Debbie Stabenow made history in 2000 when she became the first woman from the State of Michigan elected to the United States Senate. During two terms in the House, Debbie Stabenow earned a 100 percent rating from the Human Rights Campaign. In 2000 she defeated GOP Sen. Spencer Abraham, a longtime foe of gay equality. She is currently a co-sponsor of a resolution seeking to end sexual orientation discrimination in Senate.
The event is hosted by Dr. John Corvino and Mark Lock at 19691 Shrewsbury in Detroit on October 19. A Sponsor Reception begins at 3:00 p.m. This reception is for Sponsors who contribute $1,000 or more and Hosts who give $250 or more. The General Reception, which includes all supporters (those who give at the $100 level) begins at 4:00 p.m.
