Race for the Cure Saturday, June 11

Planned Parenthood of S.E. Michigan is forming a team to participate in the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Race for the Cure on Saturday, June 11 in Detroit. Volunteers will be able to participate in a 5k walk or run a one mile walk during the event.
According to the Race for the Cure web site, "The record revenues achieved by the 2004 Komen Detroit Race for the Cure enabled local grants totaling $760,000. Additionally, $250,300 was contributed to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer FoundationÕs research grant program, to be granted to scientists across the country."
This year the race is partnering with the Detroit Festival of the Arts, giving participants a chance to make a full day of the event and enjoy great art and entertainment as well as doing a good deed for a wonderful cause.
For more information on joining the Planned Parenthood team contact Deanna at 313-822-7285 or [email protected]. The deadline to register for the team is May 21. For more information about the Race and how to form your own team, visit http://www.karmanos.org/detroitraceforthecure/index.html.
