Rock and rah rah for FernCare

FernCare Free Medical Clinic is holding another FernCare(s) for Music fundraiser from 7 p.m.-2 a.m. on May 16. The event will be held at New Way Bar, located at 23130 Woodward Ave. in Ferndale.
FernCare was established in 2007. The non-profit organization provides medical services free of charge to those in need. The group hopes to assist adults between the ages of 18 and 64 without health insurance, giving them fre medical and mental health care, plus lab services, medications and access to social workers. Though the clinic is not open yet, they hope to raise funds from FernCares for Music and other events and donations to open the clinic for its first year of service soon.
Last year marked the very first of what is becoming an annual tradition for the organization. This year, the people of FernCare will step it up a notch with their FernCare(s) for Music fundraiser with six bands and the Motor City Rah Rah Cheerleaders, who will help to boost spirits and energy throughout the event.
The Bobby Pennock Band, Bricktown Station, Purdy Good, Dinosaur Pimp, Ante' M and Love Meets Lust will play and The Motor City Rah Rah Cheerleaders will do everything they can to make sure no one falls asleep.
The Bobby Pennock Band and Bricktown Station played at the first FernCare(s) for Music! last November.
Keith Dalton, local cinematographer and musician/singer will film the whole event.
Tickets for FernCare(s) for Music are $5 at the door, and raffle tickets will also be sold for $1. Drawings for prizes will be held throughout the night.
