Same-sex marriage comes to public access TV in Ann Arbor

"Support Same-Sex Marriages: It's Fair, It's American" is a special TV show expressing support for marriage for same-sex couples. Dan Burns of "Closets Are For Clothes," will interview well-known social activist Phil Volk who will be giving key talking points to support marriage for same-sex couples. This show will be aired on Channel 17 of public access cable TV throughout Ann Arbor and most of Washtenaw County. It will air on Monday, April 19 at 10:30 p.m. and Tuesday, April 20 at 11:30 p.m.
This show has been developed for those who support marriage for same-sex couples and those who are against a Constitutional amendment that bans those marriages. This battle will be won or lost in the conversations at the water cooler, at family gatherings, or when having coffee with a neighbor. When someone sees that family or friends support marriage for same-sex couples and can articulate their views, an important battleground will be won. When a person realizes that it's not "just those people" but people who are close to them, hearts and minds can be changed. It will be your willingness to speak out that will defeat these proposed bans against marriage for same-sex couples. For this reason this show was developed, to aid viewers with talking points that they can use when the discussion comes up.
