Shannonloren Named LGBT Chamber of Commerce's Newest Gold Member

DETROIT — Recognizing them for their "creative" and "innovative" marketing techniques, the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce announced that ShannonLoren is its newest Gold Member. "We look forward to working alongside their leadership to help them secure an LGBT Business Enterprise designation," said commerce president Kevin Heard. "In doing so, ShannonLoren will strengthen its future economic opportunities as more local businesses become inclusive and work to diversify their supply chains." Headquartered in Troy, ShannonLoren is a full-service marketing support services company. Since 2009, the business has expanded greatly from a single, small-room office to its current 20,000 square foot headquarters. ShannonLoren President David Huber said he is happy to accept the gold membership. "Our involvement with the Detroit Regional LGBT Chamber of Commerce is a welcomed step in our continued growth as a company," said Huber. "The opportunities to establish new relationships within the LGBT community through this Chamber is energizing for Michael (McManus) and I, as well as our employees. We look forward to the events for 2018 and improving our visibility." In order to become a certified LGBTBE, businesses must: be at least 51 percent owned, operated, managed and controlled by an LGBT person or persons who are either U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents; exercise independence from any non-LGBT business enterprise; have its principal place of business (headquarters) in the U.S. and have been formed as a legal entity in the U.S. Further, it must offer clients a variety of services, including: marketing and promotions; signs and displays; creative services; direct mail; distribution and fulfillment; and database management. The DRLGBTCC hosts a variety of events throughout the year that focus on business leadership and advocacy, education and training and social and networking opportunities. It also serves as the coordinator for Michigan's Out & Equal Regional Affiliate, also known as MERGE, by hosting monthly networking events that support lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, questioning and allied employee resource groups. MERGE strengthens ties between corporations and the LGBT community in Michigan.
