Southern Comfort' Auditions at Stagecrafters Second Stage Theatre

Royal Oak's Stagecrafters Second Stage Theatre will be holding auditions for the musical, "Southern Comfort" on Sunday, Jan. 27, and Monday, Jan. 28, at 7 p.m. at the Baldwin Theatre, located at 415 S. Lafayette in downtown Royal Oak.
"Southern Comfort" tells the story of Robert Eads, a transgender man and his chosen family of friends, most of whom are transgender during the last year of his life. Featuring a folk and bluegrass score, the musical is was first produced at the New York Public Theatre in 2016 and is the first musical to focus on the lives of transgender and gender non-conforming people.
Director Jay Kaplan, who by day is the Project Staff Attorney for the ACLU of Michigan's LGBT Project states that he's hoping "to cast actors and singers of diverse gender identities, expressions and ethnicities."
