The Peninsula Group to host reception at BTL

The Peninsula Group (TPG), Michigan's LGBT strategic planning team, will hold an informational reception to review its progress on Saturday, Dec. 9, noon-2 p.m. at the Between The Lines offices in Livonia.
The Peninsula Group was formed by concerned LGBT community leaders following the passage of Proposal 2 (Michigan's Constitutional ban on same-sex marriage) in November 2004. It grew out of the conviction that Michigan needed a think-tank, using proven strategic planning techniques, to help move the LGBT community proactively forward and secure equal rights for all citizens.
TPG members are working to provide research data, analysis and strategic planning to LGBT organizational and community leaders across the state. Its members hail from a variety of geographic regions, and reflect racial, age, gender and religious diversity.
All are invited to attend the reception, especially those interested in supporting or joining The Peninsula Group. The gathering on Dec. 9 will offer refreshments and opportunities for informal discussion from noon to 1:30 p.m., with a brief presentation at 1:30 p.m. Anyone interested in learning more or joining TPG is also invited to stay for the regular monthly meeting, from 2-5 p.m. For more information, contact Stephen Eddins at (734) 483-2524.
Between The Lines is located at 11920 Farmington Road, on the east side, just north of Plymouth Road, in an office park across the street from a low, multiple-windowed building. The BTL entrance is set back a few hundred feet from Farmington Road, in the second building back.
