Time Warp raises spirits, but less money

By BTL Staff

DETROIT – It was all glitter and glitz at the 2006 Time Warp June 10 at the Roostertail. Co-Chairs Florine Mark, President and Chairman of Weight Watchers, and Marcie Brogan, owner of Brogan and Partners Advertising, welcomed about 250 guests to the annual fundraiser for AIDS Partnership Michigan, the state's largest community-based AIDS service provider.
Although ticket sales and silent auction proceeds exceeded last year's Time Warp event, corporate sponsorships were down significantly, resulting in a 23 percent drop in total receipts to $95,000, compared to total receipts of $124,000 for last year's Time Warp event.
"Given the economy, I guess that's still pretty good," said Barbara Murray, executive director of APM. "The corporate community in Detroit has had to really tighten their belts. But I am very gratified that our supporters came to Time Warp in strong numbers and that the auction was such a success."
