Tipping Point Theatre announces initial fundraising campaign

NORTHVILLE – Tipping Point Theatre, the newest professional theater in Southeastern Michigan, announces its initial fundraising campaign, "100 Founders, 100 Days – Opening the Doors of Tipping Point Theatre." The goal of the campaign is to raise $100,000 by inviting individuals, local merchants and area organizations to join the theater's Founder's Club, an exclusive group of donors that have pledged $1,000 before the theater has opened. The funds are necessary to renovate the building at 361 E. Cady St., open the doors for children's summer theatre camp and mount the first production of the slated 2007-08 theatre season. TPT hopes to reach the campaign goal by June 20 (100 days).
Members of the Founder's Club will enjoy many benefits, including: Recognition in the building's lobby for the lifetime of the theater; A pair of tickets to each of the theatre's 2007-08 regular season shows; Invitation to all opening night afterglows with cast and crew members; Recognition in season playbills and Annual Report; and Invitation to special events, including Fourth of July breakfast celebration on parade route.
Additionally, Founder's Club members will be the first to see the completed theater space at a special "members only" open house, with backstage tours, refreshments and an intimate question/answer session with the theater staff, board of directors and volunteers.
TPT is also welcoming members of any other level, as every dollar is appreciated and counts towards opening its doors. The other giving levels and benefits are: Producer:$500-$999 Benefits include 4 tickets to selected production, recognition in season playbill and Annual Report, invitation to special events at the theatre throughout the year; Director :$250-$499 Benefits include 2 tickets to selected production, recognition in season playbill and Annual Report; Player: $1-$249 Benefits include opportunity to purchase advance tickets and recognition and in season playbills and Annual Report.
TPT began the "silent phase" of the campaign in February, offering those attending its "A Call to Action" fundraising event the first opportunity to join the Founder's Club. At this time, the club has 41 members.
By helping to open the doors of TPT, members will play a pivotal role in bringing the arts and artistic education and outreach to Northville and all of southeastern Michigan. TPT will offer educational classes to children and adults, volunteer opportunities to the community and will bring affordable, live entertainment to the area. Furthermore, TPT hopes to be a catalyst for economic growth and an attraction for local tourism.
The mission of TPT is to foster human interactions and relations, creating a unifying, yet personal experience through affordable, professional-level theatre performances and community outreach.
