The competition was fierce as competitors vied for a $500 prize and potentially an additional $100 for winning in the presentation portion and another $100 for the best talent. Eventually, the newest Miss Woodward was crowned as Victoria Sanchez.

” I am elated and proud to be your 10th Annual newly-crowned Miss Woodward,” Sanchez posted on Facebook. “… all I wanted to do was be able to represent a part of my city, become more involved with the community, be able to entertain and perform for my community, and I have earned a chance to be able to do that with you. So let’s get to work!”

Sanchez also made sure to thank a variety of friends, family and coworkers who she said made her victory possible.

Event organizer Ray “RB” Calhoun posted on Facebook about Sanchez’s win as well.

“I want to thank everybody that came out to the 10th Annual Miss Woodward pageant last night congratulations to Victoria Sanchez the new miss Woodward looking forward to working with you,” Calhoun wrote. “And to Raven Turner you shine all night thank you for entering the pageant and you did a wonderful job I’m looking forward to working with you as well.”
