Our beloved writer, friend and confidant Charles Alexander suffered a stroke Monday and is currently recuperating at Detroit Receiving Hospital. Charles has written for the paper since its inception in 1993, completing nearly 1,000 of his weekly "Parting Glances" columns. He is well known for his deep knowledge of Detroit's history, his humor, whimsy and staunch support of the LGBTQ community. He is also one of the area's best known artists and is a board member of the prestigious Scarab Club. His art can be seen in dozens of homes and businesses throughout the Detroit area.
All of us at BTL send Charles our love, support and wishes for a complete and speedy recovery.
