EAST LANSING – Wharton Center for Performing Arts is pleased to announce a unique new series – Christman Live At State Concerts. Sponsored in part by the Christman Company, a Lansing-based construction management company, Live At State will include shows added after Wharton Center announces its traditional performing arts line-up each spring.
With a focus on popular artists, comedians, and up-and-coming performers, Live At State concerts will enhance the local product mix, further positioning the region as an entertainment destination for all ages and interests.
"It's not just Broadway producers who want their acts seen in Michigan," said Mike Brand, Wharton Center's executive director, in a statement. "As we continue to solidify a national and international reputation as a top-selling market, producers and tour managers are taking note and prompting us to shift from a seasonal presenter to year-around programming."
Since many popular artists don't schedule tour dates early enough to be included in Wharton Center's annual season brochure, Live At State concerts will go on sale as they confirm throughout the year rather than be announced all at once like most traditional series. Live At State concerts will showcase everything from popular mainstays to up-and-coming artists, and appeal to a broad audience including a new generation of arts entertainment patrons. CeU, a sexy, soulful starlet from Brazil, ZZ Top and Kenny G will all perform as part of the series.
Tickets are on sale now for all of the acts.
