Gregory Johnson, LMSW, is a therapist at The Center for Relationship Health in Royal Oak, Michigan, where he is dedicated to helping clients build meaningful, fulfilling lives. With extensive experience working with the LGBTQ+ community, Greg approaches therapy through a holistic lens, integrating evidence-based modalities to address the unique needs of each client. His compassionate, inclusive approach fosters a safe and affirming space for individuals, couples, families, teens, and older adults.

Greg is trained in a wide range of therapeutic interventions, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), the Gottman Method, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Polyvagal Theory. He also utilizes Motivational Interviewing and other research-backed techniques to develop targeted treatment plans tailored to each client’s goals.

Currently a doctoral candidate at Eastern Michigan University, Greg is completing his dissertation in Educational Studies, focusing on the relationship between adolescent LGBTQ+ bullying, marginalization and its impact on mental health and educational outcomes. His academic research informs his clinical work, equipping him to address the intersection of identity, mental health and social equity with depth and empathy.

Passionate about empowering his clients, Greg helps them navigate life transitions, heal from trauma and embrace personal growth. Whether supporting someone through grief, relationship challenges or identity exploration, Greg’s work centers on helping individuals live authentically and take action toward a life worth living.
