Ann Arbor Family Days for kids of all ages

ANN ARBOR – Eleven area cultural organizations are collaborating to present the first Ann Arbor Family Days on April 3 and 4 at a variety of venues throughout Ann Arbor. Ann Arbor Family Days will offer free and low-cost, family-friendly cultural events, including museum tours, arts and crafts projects and live performances, all concentrated in the downtown/campus area.
Each event will be marked with an age-appropriate rating to ensure that families attend events both they and their children will enjoy. Many events are free, and all are open to the public.
Here are just some of the events you and your little loved ones can enjoy together. For a complete list check out the Ann Arbor Family Days website at www.annarbor.org/familydays:
Ann Arbor District Library – "Wild Swan Theatre's enchanting production of "Frog and Toad," through storytelling, puppets props you'll explore the adventures and great friendship of these two reptiles. Also, the library will host Detroit PuppetART Theatres' "The Adventures of Kolobok," the Gingerbread Man as seen through the eyes of two forest creatures.
The Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum will host Family Super Science Days with exciting live science demonstrations.
The University Musical Society will present a special family performance of Lyon Opera Ballet's "Tricodex." Before and after the performances the Ann Arbor Art Center will host two arts workshops in the Power Center lobby.
The Swing City Dance Studio will present a creative movement workshop. "What is Dance?" The Dance Gallery Studio will present an interactive dance program, "At the Ballet: A Look Behind the scenes," and the Ann Arbor Youth Chorale will be on hand for two concerts.
There will be special family-friendly exhibits at the University of Michigan Museum of Art and at the University of Michigan Exhibit Museum of Natural History, including special presentations at the planetarium.
It is a wonderful assortment of activities and events.
