Cho and Lauper join Gay Games entertainment line up

CHICAGO – Comedian Margaret Cho and 80s pop idol Cyndi Lauper will join the roster of over 60 entertainers at the 2006 Chicago Gay Games, which closes registration on June 15.
Cho will participate in the Opening Ceremony July 15 in the 60,000-seat Soldier Field.
"How could I not participate in an event where 60,000 gay and lesbian-friendly people will fill an entire American football stadium? The irony alone is fantastic," Cho said in a press release. "Seriously, the Gay Games have become the pinnacle of athletic competition and international fellowship in the world's LGBT community, and I wouldn't miss being a part of the Opening Ceremony."
Lauper will close the ceremonies on July 22 at Wrigley Field.
"I feel like this is becoming sort of a tradition for me since I performed last time the Gay Games were in the states, in New York City in 1994," Lauper said in a press release. "I am thrilled to be a part of the 2006 Gay Games in Chicago."
The late registration period for all sports and culture programs will close at midnight on Thursday, June 15 and that late fees for registrations will go up starting Monday, June 5.
