Local LGBT league officers to compete in special bowling exhibition

MADISON HEIGHTS – Organizers of the 2006 International Gay Bowling Organization Mid-Year Bowling Tournament will host a 9-Pin No Tap singles tournament at 8 p.m. Sept. 30 at Fairlanes in Madison Heights.
As a show of support, officers from local bowling leagues will participate in a special side event – "Battle of the Leagues" – where they will compete against one another to determine the best among them. Other planned activities include: door prizes, jackpots, brackets, raffles and drink specials.
"This is a great community event that will not only help to raise funds for the Mid-Year tournament, but also bring people together in the spirit of friendly competition," said Shawn Trahan, IGBO Mid-Year co-director.
Bowlers of any skill level are welcome to compete. For more info, please call Shawn at (248) 684-1860 or visit http://www.igbomidyear2006detroit.com.
The cost is $25 per person and will include cash payouts for top place finishers.
